Tom Casmer

  • Tom Casmer was raised in the Midwest. He studied at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota earning his BA Degree in Fine Art/Drawing and Painting, and later studied Design and Illustration at the School of the Associated Arts (College of Visual Arts), also in St. Paul, earning his BFA.

    He has served on the faculties of the College of Visual Arts and Brown College in Minnesota, and the Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida. Over his career as an artist he has also worked as an Illustrator/Designer working both in-house and as a freelance artist.

    Casmer’s work has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions and has received awards from the Art Center of Sarasota, adFed Suncoast, and Ringling College’s Continuing Studies Exhibitions as well as Design Quarterly; The Journal of Art and Design 100 Best in the category of Fine Art. Articles featuring his work have appeared in Sarasota Scene magazine: March 2020 “Design legends”, SRQ magazine; February, 2017 “Art of Family” as well as the July/August 2021 issue; “Conversing with Shapes: Artist Tom Casmer Blooms in the Shadow of the Pandemic”, The Daily Sun; November 2023 “More Than the Sum of Its Parts”
